citrus bliss

today's theme at the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art is citrus.

i remembered i had some cool citrus background paper from the summer picnic paper pack by gecko galz so i used that as a base, stamped around the edges with a stamp by stampendous then used additional images from the gecko galz tattoo summer digital kit and a butterfly also from gecko galz (can't recall which sheet or kit). the word is from  retired tumblefish studios kit.

ICAD #12 "brocade"

here's today's piece for the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art. theme today is "brocade" and i had a wonderful intention -- i was going to create a brocade-like background using acrylic paints and stencils. my attempts with more ornate stencils ended up being blurry and messy. so while i like what i ended up with, it wasn't the brocade-like background i had in mind....

ICAD #4 "sequin"

ok folks, i'm 4 days in for the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art. the challenge is to make art on an index card (either 3x5 or 4x6) every day through July 31.  today's theme is "sequin," you don't have to follow the theme but so far i've played along. except i don't have any sequins on here technically but the glam factor is clear.

summertime fun

the challenge at moo mania and more is "summertime."  this theme makes me think of playing at the beach and enjoying the sunshine.  my traditional "moo" (1.1 x 2.8 inches) celebrates the beach.

the bingo card and bathing beauty are images by gecko galz.  the customer challenge at the gecko galz blog this august is "beach blanket bingo" and i had that theme in mind when i created this as well.

supplies: gecko galz "summer sweeties" collage sheet; gecko galz "sea life" collage sheet; gecko galz "paisley park" paper pack; gecko galz "game time" collage sheet; gecko galz "journal toppers" kit; sand dollar chipboard.

instructions:  i covered my tag base with the paisley park paper.  after fussy cutting all the other elements i arranged them to my liking and glued them down.  simple!

supplies: gecko galz gidget mini paper pack; gecko galz "summer sweeties" collage sheet; bingo and dart board from gecko galz "game time" collage sheet; gecko galz "charming words" collage sheet; domino letter stickers, cardstock, distress ink, flower and enamel dot from my stash.

instructions: i covered the cardstock with gidget paper and distressed the edges. i fussy cut the woman, bingo card, dartboard and word from their respective collage sheets and adhered them to the card stock.  the domino stickers and flower with enamels dot are the finishing touches.

supplies: gecko galz la isla bonita paper pack; gecko galz "aloha" collage sheet; gecko galz "darling dragonflies" collage sheet; gecko galz "charming words" collage sheet; ATC base; distress ink; shell die cut.

instructions: i covered the ATC base with the paper and distressed the edges.  i fussy cut the woman, word and dragonfly and arranged them on the ATC base and added the shell die cut last.

instructions: i covered the card stock tag base in paper from the gidget paper pack and distressed the edges. i added the image from the aloha sheet, which i'd fussy cut.  i added the shell, letters and flowers to finish.

happy summer, happy august!  this month at the gecko galz customer challenge blog our theme is "by the shore." link up a seaside creation for the chance to win a gecko galz prize!

i've made a little "twinchie" to get this started -- a 2x2 inch creation...

"summer memories"

supplies: inchie arts twinchie base; gecko galz beachy keen paper pack; gecko galz sunny summer jewels collage sheet; distress ink.

instructions: this was the simplest creation to make.  i covered the twinchie base with the designer paper and distressed the edges.  i fussy cut three images from the collage sheet and adhere them to the base.  i'd intended to do more with this but i looked at it and felt satisfied so i stopped!
