feline friday

i discovered the feline friday blog hop at messy mimi's meanderings thanks to Nuria of bitacora literaria. the task is to post a photo, drawing, or similar of a cat. i used to have cats and i miss them a lot. this week, for the first time, i visited a local cat cafe. it's a place where for a fee you can visit some cats! here are two of the cats i met:

the 1st one pictured reminds me of an orange cat i had -- Gilda. a rare female orange. 

i had a good time at the cafe but i do not know if i would do it again. most of the cats were pretty sleepy which makes sense given that cats sleep 16-17 hours a day!

so i made a digital creation with some very awake kitties! using images from fusion dream print, designs by MANDN, dezinaworld (retired), and mischief circus (retired).

a good time either way!

Hester and Eve

this week's challenge theme at our midweek muse is "it begins with an A."  the first thing i thought of was The Scarlet Letter, a book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. in this story, a woman in American puritan times, Hester Prynne, is forced to wear a scarlet letter "A" to represent her adultery, because she gave birth to a child by a man to whom she was not married. only the woman was punished, of course. (although in the story the man, incidentally a preacher, ultimately dies from his guilt).

the woman here is from ameria design studios. i took the image of a church from pixabay and rendered it in black and white. additional images are from pixabay and mischief circus. roses were featured in the book.

women take a lot of the heat for things that go wrong in this world it seems. thus this second creation featuring a famous apple...

mona fashion and lifestyle

i love when i get to host a sunday postcard art theme because it is a little creative challenge on how to inspire my blogland friends. so many artists love playing on the theme of the iconic mona lisa, i struggled to think of what i could do that might be a bit different. well, here's my inspiration on the mona theme for this week!
