feline friday

i discovered the feline friday blog hop at messy mimi's meanderings thanks to Nuria of bitacora literaria. the task is to post a photo, drawing, or similar of a cat. i used to have cats and i miss them a lot. this week, for the first time, i visited a local cat cafe. it's a place where for a fee you can visit some cats! here are two of the cats i met:

the 1st one pictured reminds me of an orange cat i had -- Gilda. a rare female orange. 

i had a good time at the cafe but i do not know if i would do it again. most of the cats were pretty sleepy which makes sense given that cats sleep 16-17 hours a day!

so i made a digital creation with some very awake kitties! using images from fusion dream print, designs by MANDN, dezinaworld (retired), and mischief circus (retired).

a good time either way!

our october challenge at the gecko galz customer challenge blog is fittingly "bump in the night!"  link up your eery, scary or fun hallowe'en themed creations for this month's challenge for the chance to win a prize.  details below! here's what i've made:

supplies: ATC base; gecko galz "boo-tiful halloween" collage sheet; gecko galz freak show paper pack; sabor papel die cut; border and ghost die cut; word and raven stickers; distress ink.

instructions: adhere freak show paper to base, distress edges with black ink.  add border at base and sabor papel heart at top; fussy cut witch with cauldron from boo-tiful halloween collage sheet and adhere.  add ghost and words.  done!

“Retro Lolita”

 i decided to make coasters with these images.  i started with a trip to the dollar store -- 

ultimately decided to go with the square coasters instead of the round ones.  

gecko galz products used: retro lolita collage sheet; darling dragonflies collage sheet; la vie en rose collage sheet; scripted collage sheet; time flies collage sheet; card toppers collage sheet; vintage card toppers collage sheet; la isla bonita paper pack; gatsby digital paper pack; along with random borders, die cuts, stickers, distress inks, etc., from my stash.

here they are all together.  if anyone has tips for sealing these so they can actually be used as coasters let me know.  otherwise they'll just have to be decorative!
