our prompt at tag tuesday this week is "film title" which presented the double challenge of both thinking of a film and then figuring out how to depict it. i did some channel surfing on the TV and got my perfect idea!
can you guess my film? the apes were free downloads from dover publications and the planet scene is from the lunagirl "celestial #1" collage sheet. i like how this came out.
enjoy! love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

i made a "moostake"
i thought the current theme at moo mania and more challenge blog was "music" so i made a quick "moo" (approx. 1.1 by 2.8 inches) utilizing images by lunagirl.
this lovely lady and her violin made a nice choice for the theme. however, "music" was the last theme. the current theme is water. oops. so i started again. for this second moo it is all rubber stamping.
i glued a piece of map to the cardboard moo base i'd cut out, using a section of the pacific ocean including the area around polynesia. the mermaid and wave stamps are by meer image and the bubble stamp is by g-rated stamps.
i'm linking these to the pink saturday blog in honor of its 8th birthday!
that should do it. enjoy; love to all.

a stroll with a bumbershoot
taking a simple walk in the neighborhood, she uses an umbrella to shield her skin from the elements...
another word for "bumbershoot" is "umbrella" and that is the theme at the three muses challenge this week. this is a digital creation with all images by dezinaworld.
enjoy, and love to all.

alice again, for the cheeky challenge
two weeks ago when i entered the "book stories" challenge at the cheeky challenge using images from alice in wonderland i had failed to look ahead to see that there was an actual alice in wonderland challenge coming. so i had to make another alice creation of course!
i call this "growing alice" and i used dezinaworld digital images from her alice, backgrounds and eclectic collections. this is another 100% digital creation. the message? be careful what you drink!
enjoy; love to all.

just a little country road trip with two dapper fellows
the dezinaworld cheeky challenge this week is "masculine." i'm getting kind of obsessed with working with the digital images by dezinaworld and so that's what i've done again here.
i chose images from the "backgrounds" and "men" collections and also the moth and car, all available on the site. all digital images by dezinaworld, with just some resizing and such in photoshop by me. i'm having fun with this!
i'm also linking to the three muses challenge "transportation."
enjoy; love to all.

all things alice swap ATCs received!
i was very happy to participate in the "all things alice" swap hosted by marion at bockel24 blog. i posted my creations here. i have now received my swap ATCs and they are nothing short of wonderful!
left to right:
"drink me": by alice (aptly named!) from finland and the blog yellow house studio;
"size matters" by judith brandt of germany;
white rabbit by ilka from germany and blog small dots on blue.
i adore these ATCS -- thank you swap friends and especially thank you to marion! i also feel so grateful to be connected to talented people from all over the world. participating in international swaps is worth the little bit of extra postage to connect to wonderful artists from all over.
love to all.

precious friends
here are two precious and loving women as continued inspiration for you to join the "mothers and sisters" challenge at lunagirl moonbeams.
this is my third twinchie this month -- a 2x2 inche creation. my base for the twinchie is by inchie arts. it is well worth it to buy these beautifully precision cut bases which are perfect for collage or stamping or whatever. the background paper is by jodie lee designs. the women are from the "just us girls" collage sheet by lunagirl and the butterfly is from the "woodland animals" collage sheet, also by lunagirl. the word comes from tim holtz and the border is from my stash.
I'm linking this to the "anything goes" challenge at the "not just cards" challenge blog.
as to the lunagirl challenge. link up your art about mothers or sisters and link to the lunagirl blog for the chance to win shopping credit at the lunagirl store! a reminder of the challenge guidelines:

book stories, some digital play with dezinaworld
"oh mr. rabbit, mr. rabbit, what is in this potion? why are you always looking at your pocketwatch? and where are we anyway?" where are they indeed? what is the mad hatter doing? and why is there an emu outside the window...?
i submit this digital creation for the dezinaworld cheeky challenge "book stories" challenge this week. all images in this fully digital creation are free images provided by dezinaworld, specifically from the "alice," "garden" and "backgrounds" offerings. in addition to the background there are 7 additional images incorporated into the creation. i do love the alice story and it is fun to add a little bit to it!
enjoy; love to all.

3 Bs at tag tuesday
this week we got to choose which of 3 "b" letter words we would use for our tags at tag tuesday. the choices were buttons, burlap, birds, bees, blue, brown and butterflies.

but back to my tag -- the papers are by jodie lee and the flowers are from a kaisercraft sticker sheet. that's a real button from my stash.
enjoy; love to all.

"garden of dreams" may customer challenge at gecko galz
this month at the gecko galz challenge blog you are invited to create on the theme of "garden of dreams." this is a lovely opportunity to envision the garden of your dreams in your art! here is my inspiration for you:
garden of dreams altered tin
supplies: altoids tin; gecko galz "zen garden" paper pack; gecko galz "a rose is a rose" paper pack; gecko galz "blue birds of happiness" collage sheet; gecko galz "vintage vixens" collage sheet; washi tape; paper flowers; anna griffin "birds and butterflies" sticker set.
instructions: i measured and cut papers from the "zen garden" and "a rose is a rose" paper packs and adhered them to the tin. i fussy cut images from the 2 collage sheets and also glued them to the cover. using washi tape to cover the sides is an easy way to avoid a lot of additional measuring, cutting and gluing! i added the butterfly to the top and the paper flowers to the bottom last.
to participate in the challenge you must use at least one item by gecko galz. check out the etsy store, the pinterest page (for freebies) or sign up for the monthly newsletter on the blog to get a free collage sheet every month.
come back here on may 6 for more inspiration and for a digital freebie by gecko galz!
i'm also linking my tin to the anything goes challenge at eclectic ellapu.
love to all.
