sweet pea progressive challenge for june, part 2

for part 2 of the june progressive challenge at the sweet pea stamps friends and fans facebook page we were given a digital image by karen middleton called "mushroom fairy."  here is my creation:

i colored the mushroom fairy digi with colored pencils and cut it out.  the background is 3 different designer papers arranged to my liking.  the "one fine day" stamp and prima flowers are from my stash.  this piece makes me happy because summer has arrived in my hemisphere.  in general i am always too busy with work or responsibilities of various kinds.  but i have already been blessed with a few fine days like this fairy is having, days of sweet quiet, contemplation and little to do.  this card reminds me of the value of that sweet contemplation.

enjoy!  to learn more about the monthly progressive challenges search for the "sweet pea stamps friends and fans" page on facebook.

love to all.  and wishing you many fine days!

green, gold, spring, birds

greetings kind people.  here are two pieces for four challenges...

this tag is for the "birds and bees" challenge at the gecko galz papercrafting facebook page and for the "spring" challenge at take a word challenge blog.  the main image is by gecko galz with washi tape, flower and ribbon added from my stash.  the letter "b" was stamped.

for my card i used both an image and background papers from gecko galz.  i'm entering this piece in the "green and gold" challenge at the gecko galz papercrafting facebook group and also for the "go green" challenge at eclectic ellapu.  the letters on both pieces are stamped from a new acquisition of mine -- clickable symbols and letters stamp set called pegz by mason row.  you can arrange letters and symbols however you want and click them together to stamp your words and phrases.  this is my first time playing with the new sets.

enjoy; love to all.

sweet pea stamps progressive challenge -- part 2

i'm playing along in part two of the sweet pea facebook group progressive challenge.  part one was "anything goes" but to play in part two we were all given a sweet pea stamps digital stamp for our creation, karen middleton's "easter daffodil."  here is my creation:

such a super cute digital image!  i colored it with colored pencils and then adhered the framed image to colorful cardstock and added embellishments from my stash.

all are welcome to join the sweet pea facebook group and play along!

stop to smell the roses

oh the world can get very busy.  stopping to breathe, appreciate nature, relate to family and friends and take time to care of oneself is very necessary.  a june gecko galz facebook/yahoo group challenge is to "smell the roses" and at tag tuesday this week the prompt is "roses."  so this is what has gotten me all philosophical today!  here is my tag:

with the exception of some washi tape at the bottom, every image on this tag, including the background is from the "in my garden" collage sheet from gecko galz.  this sweet giddy fairy is very happy among the giant roses.  i will definitely reflect on this tag when i find my world spinning a little too fast...  sigh.

love to all.

gecko galz challenges

clearly i'm feeling kind of green...
here are two cards made for 2 of this month's challenges for the gecko galz yahoo group/facebook challenges.  they are both in a similar color palette.

this one is for the "mother's day" challenge.  i really liked this image.  though she does not look like my mother she makes me think of the women in my family all of whom are quite diva-like and know how to wear a hat!  she also has little birds in her flower scarf, an image i adore. i also linked this to the mother's day challenge on the gecko galz blog.  the lovely lady and the word "mother" come from gecko galz collage sheets.  the rest are stash items.

this one is for the "green and white" challenge, also featuring a central image from gecko galz.  i suppose you could say the other one is more truly green and white and this one could also easily be a mother's day card. but this one could also just be a spring card.  and anyway, what does it matter?  i enjoyed making them and they are happy, pretty cards!

love to all.

embossing with rogue redhead...

time to get messy with inks and powders because the challenge for the next two weeks at the cheerful stamp pad is to use embossing powders!  for my DT piece i decided to use a stamp from rogue redhead designs and also to participate in the rogue redhead facebook april sketch.  the embossing technique really gives the stamped image more presence.

the sketch design is a really good one and i like how this came out.  i used coordinating papers and a sentiment from a creative memories "reminisce spring" paper pack.

i'm linking up to 2 other challenge as well:
week #7 scraps of color blogger's challenge "embossing"
and pile it on challenge, "rubber stamping with rogue redhead."

the randomly selected winner of the cheerful stamp pad challenge will get a prize from our challenge sponsor "stamp on it."

have a wonderful week; love to all.

100 proof moo mania

one of the companies that first got me hooked on stamping is 100 proof press.  although i've been on their newsletter forever and have "liked" their facebook page this is the first time i entered one of their facebook challenges/giveaways.  just under the november 8 deadline wire i present these "moos" in response to the newsletter reader/facebook challenge.  i'm linking this up to the "hands" challenge at moo mania challenge blog as well.

this 100 proof press clown stamp is a long time favorite of mine.  the background paper and ribbon are from alphastamps.  the little flourish is a little something from my stash.

i always felt this little acorn guy wanted to share some powerful wisdom.  i was happy to find a suitable proverb (on a clear sticker base) that was just the right size to fit the moo.  the background paper is from seven gypsies. the autumn leaves and die cut are from my stash.

last but not least i present to you "the greatest!" muhammed ali.  he was a total wordsmith so i was delighted to find some designer paper in my stash that is covered with letters.  i wrote "pow" with letter stickers.  and of course, he floats like a butterfly but stings like a.....

as you may know, moos are roughly 1.1 x 2.8 inch (as in TINY) creations.  so while challenging to make, they really are fun as they force you to wrap your mind around a very different kind of canvas.
all stamps here are by 100 proof press.

love to all.
