je t'aime

for tag tuesday's new two week challenge: have a heart.  this challenge is hosted by lovely DT member sandie.

background paper is from the gecko galz floral symphony paper pack.  stamped on that paper is a dictionary definition stamp by stampendous.  i used silver embellishments from my stash  the lovely image is from the lunagirl african american expanded CD.  je t'aime stamp by rogue redhead designs.

love to all.

clean and simple

the words clean and simple speak for themselves i suppose -- but when i saw the latest prompt at tag tuesday to make a clean and simple tag i felt the need to do a little research.  i found the CASology blog, dedicated to clean and simple creations.  so here's what i did:

this tag is for tag tuesday and for the current challenge at CASology which is "sprout," in honor of spring.  i started with a kraft cardstock tag and stamped the flower from rogue redhead stamps and the word from inkadinako.  and that's it.  it was a challenge to not do anything more.  but i like the results.  i'll be playing along with CASology again in the future!

enjoy; love to all.

tags and people

sometimes the simplest things can perplex -- our prompt at tag tuesday this week is "people" and i spent way too much time wondering if this meant plural people or the concept of people!  thus i made two tags, of course.

the background of this tag is stamped with an image from rogue redhead designs. i used these three faces from a collage sheet of unknown origins and a sentiment from a tim holtz sticker book.

the background paper and vintage image on this tag are both from gecko galz,  i also used a stencil and watercolor spray ink over the background paper for additional dimension.  the rest of the tag are stash bits.

enjoy; love to all.

unruly paper arts ATC swap

in february we had a "botanical ATCs" swap at unruly paper arts.  i am just getting around to sharing my ATCs.

here are the ones i made and sent:

the 1st two include stamps by rogue redhead designs and the third has stamps by rubber moon art stamps. the hummingbord is a digital stamp by (  ).

here are the wonderful ones i received:

on the left is a gorgeous ATC from sharon rogers, an artist i've admired for a long time.  the second fabulous piece (the scan really does not do it justice) came from jessica madaglia another inspiring artist.  now the swap was a 3-3 i believe but when i went to make my scan i could only find 2 ATCs in the envelope.  this means i either lost the 3rd ATC (and shame on me if so) or i only got 2.  i suspect the fault is mine as my workspace is an utter disaster.  so i hope i will come upon that 3rd piece.

until later; love to all.

altered card deck week 8 (+alphastamps giveaway)

week 8 at the altered card deck challenge at claudine's art corner was love.  in my effort to get caught up (i think the main group is at about week 15!) i made these two cards,  as with all of them i started with a card deck and a liberal dose of gesso.  on both of these i then used daniel smith watercolor sticks for the backgrounds.  on the first all the rest is done with promarkers except the stamped "je t'aime" which is a rogue redhead designs stamp stamped on tissue paper, and also my silver molotow pen.  for the second card i used die cuts, more pro markers, a butterfly brad and black beads, both from eyelet outlet.

now, please pop over to the alphastamps blog and comment on the blog post today for a chance to win fabulous prizes at the alphastamps annual after christmas giveaway!

love to all.

my dear sweetheart

i have a sweet tag to share today made with some of the new products our DT was given to wirk with from gecko galz this month.  i call this tag "my dear sweetheart."

gecko galz mayflower paper pack
gecko galz november collage sheet
antique lace
paper flower
pearl
ribbon
hole reinforcement
“je t’aime” stamp from rogue redhead designs

moon goddess in love

moon goddess is the new theme at lunagirl moonbeams for the next two weeks.  i used vintage images from two lunagirl collage sheets -- "celestial" and "celestial II"  to make my ATC.

the wonderful harlequin background paper came from alphastamps.  i punched a heart shape from some primavera paper by iTkUpiLLi.  i used a couple different tissue tapes, distress inks and the je t'aime stamp from rogue redhead designs.

a randomly selected winner will get shopping credit at the ever-wonderful lunagirl store.
play along if you will!

happy week; love to all

sweet love goddess and bird

birds birds birds how i love these birds!  it is week two for the lunagirl moonbeams challenge.  we are asking everyone to "put a bird on it"  by adding birds to your art.  the randomly chosen winner will get some shopping $$ for the lunagirl store. i have another tag for DT inspiration this week,

i really enjoyed making this tag.  i started with some wonderful designer paper from my stash which i lightly stamped in brown ink with a "crackle" background stamp from sonlight impressions.  i added a torn strip of some additional designer paper at the bottom.  on the left side i doodled some spirals with my red-gold metallic pro-marker.  i also added the moth, torn from some other designer paper and lots of washi tape.

the beautiful lady is from the lunagirl "goddess" collage sheet and the bird is from one of the many "birds" collage sheets at lunagirl.  the stamped "je t'aime" is a stamp by rogue redhead designs.  i stamped it on tissue paper and tore that as well.

i hope you will join our fun!  there is a nice lunagirl vintage bird image freebie here and more here if you are interested as well!
love to all.

another day in fairyland

the fairyland challenge continues at lunagirl moonbeams blog and you are invited to link up a creation involving fairy things for a chance at a lunagirl shopping spree.  which is honestly pretty much like being in fairyland because of all the pretty and delicious things to be found there!

fairies watch carefully over all growing things so for my ATC this week my vintage lunagirl fairies image has visited one flower and is flitting off to check on another.  you can see the mama fairy is bringing her daughter along to help.

i started with some pretty designer paper which i glued to the cardboard ATC base.  on it i stamped a favorite image from the rogue redhead designs floriculture plate.  using a heart shape punch i punched the heart from some lunagirl seed pack collage sheet paper.  i added tissue tape from cavallini and co, some stick-on lace from my local daiso japanese dollar store (treasure trove of affordable crafting stuff!) and of course i was distressing edges throughout.  i tore the fairy image to the roughly desired size and added a butterfly brad (alphastamps).

fairyland is a good place to visit.  if your art takes you there please link it up at the lunagirl site.
wishing you a happy week.  love to all.

silhouette tag

we are working with silhouettes this week at tag tuesday so i decided to make a tag using both some digital and traditional stamps.

the hummingbird and butterfly are digital images from bugaboo stamps.  the gorgeous flower is from my favorite rogue redhead designs "floriculture" stamp plate.  the primary sheet of background paper for the tag as well as the paper the hummingbird was printed on are both from the primavera series by itKuPiLLi.

in addition to some distressing and ribbon, i added a little bead for the hummingbird's eye and some additional paper at the bottom that looks like a stone wall.

hummingbirds are my favorites.
love to all.

embossing with rogue redhead...

time to get messy with inks and powders because the challenge for the next two weeks at the cheerful stamp pad is to use embossing powders!  for my DT piece i decided to use a stamp from rogue redhead designs and also to participate in the rogue redhead facebook april sketch.  the embossing technique really gives the stamped image more presence.

the sketch design is a really good one and i like how this came out.  i used coordinating papers and a sentiment from a creative memories "reminisce spring" paper pack.

i'm linking up to 2 other challenge as well:
week #7 scraps of color blogger's challenge "embossing"
and pile it on challenge, "rubber stamping with rogue redhead."

the randomly selected winner of the cheerful stamp pad challenge will get a prize from our challenge sponsor "stamp on it."

have a wonderful week; love to all.

anything goes continues at the cheerful stamp pad; celebrating kwanzaa

it is week two of the "anything goes" challenge at the cheerful stamp pad so make whatever you like and link to our challenge.  the only requirement is that it be something new or not previously posted.  a randomly selected winner will get a prize from our challenge sponsor bugaboo stamps.
i also wanted to link up to the latest challenge at rogue redhead designs which is to make anything pertaining to a winter holiday.  so my creation celebrates kwanzaa.

my featured stamp is from the rubbernecker stamp co and i enhanced it a bit with colored pencils.  the background paper is from twisted papers.  kwanzaa is a holiday which falls after christmas and which celebrates african american heritage and culture.  look here to learn more.

happy day and happy week!  love to all.

happy birthday to rogue redhead designs!

rebel challenge 29 at rogue redhead designs is "happy birthday or unbirthday" in celebration of the november birthday of the stamp company.  i used one of my favorite RRD stamps from the milliner misses stamp plate for my birthday card.  she is colored with pro markers.

this card also uses the "washi weave" technique which is one of my favorite techniques from technique junkies.  the happy birthday stamp is from memory box stamps.
i'm linking up to "anything goes" challenge #48 at scraps of color.

love to all.

just visiting gramps...

although i'm pretty sure gramps has passed on.  and in fact grandson is looking a little zombie-ish...
this is my first time playing along at the frilly and funkie challenge blog and i'm entering the "what's your poison" challenge, requiring a hallow e'en creation using green and black but no orange.

i stamped the cat (100 proof press), grandson (rogue redhead designs) and gramps/skeleton (inkadinkado) on green paper and cut them out.  the moon (character constructions) is stamped on white.  the swirly background paper is from alpha stamps.  my best crafting investment this season came from a little trolling around ebay where i came across some fab hallow e'en die cuts (here i've used the fence and ghost) which i've been using like crazy on all my hallow e'en creations.  the gravestone is a sticker from my stash, company unknown.  but a clever grave marker, yes?

enjoy; love to all.

perhaps he should not have walked by that haunted house....

he was just innocently walking home from school;
but perhaps he should not have walked by that haunted house....

i submit this batty creation for the unruly paper arts reader art quest 2 "go batty," and for the rogue redhead designs rebel challenge "die cut divas," and finally for the pink gem challenge "spooky" theme.

i've always thought this young man from the rogue redhead designs "relish reading" plate looked a little dubious and now i know why -- he is being followed by bats and ghosts!  i stamped this frightened guy and cut him out to apply to the card stock which i'd already prepared with several torn papers from a hallowe'en themed paper pack and then had fun adding my fence, ghost and bat die cuts.

i do hope he makes it home safely...

love to all.

autumn challenges galore!

here is a DT piece for the current "autumn" themed challenge at lunagirl moonbeams.  there is one more week to enter -- challenge closes october 6.
i am also happy to link this creation to two more challenges:
the "autumn glory" challenge at tag along challenge blog
and the "autumn colors rebel challenge" at rogue redhead designs.

the background on the tag itself has two different technique junkies techniques going on but i only remember the name of one of theme -- "depth of field."  the stamps here -- the flowers and the the "je t'aime" are from the floriculture sheet at rogue redhead designs. there is a bright orange flower and some tissue tape included here. and of course the lovely vintage image is from lunagirl -- the "mucha 1" collage sheet.  as to the lunagirl autumn challenge a randomly selected winner will get to shop at lunagirl.

we've been enjoying changing colors, blustery winds and wild rains where i live.  i hope your autumn is beautiful and safe!

love to all.

a roguish yet fashionable moo...

friends, i wasn't sure if i'd ever do it again but, behold, here is another moo -- a 1.1 by 2.8 inch teeny tiny creation.  i saw a perfect synchronicity of challenges with the moo mania "fashion mode" challenge and the rogue redhead designs slender benders rebel challenge.  i submit this little piece for both.

i started with a rogue redhead designs stamp from the milliner misses stamp plate.  i have a soft spot for this plate because my beloved late grandmother had a talent for making very fancy hats.  i recently acquired my first ever set of alcohol ink markers -- letraset promarkers -- when i had a half off coupon at an art supply store. wow, let me just say that even though i am still getting the hang of these i see why alcohol ink markers are so popular.  this is some smooth coloring folks.  i may be in love.

i had some simple patterned DP which i stamped with a stampin' up french script stamp to apply to my pre-cut cardboard moo base.  then cut my milliner miss image to fit.  i added a heart because who doesn't love fashion?

enjoy and all wishes for a happy week.
love to all.

thrinchie beauties from the mails

at long last i am posting the gorgeous 3x3 "thrinchie"creations i received as a part of a recent swap sponsored by unruly paper arts.  the theme was garden party.  unruly paper arts is a blogozine dedicated to discovering the messy and magnificent in your art.  i was lucky to receive 3 pieces each from 2 artists whose blogs i've long admired.  and now i have their scrumptious art in my own inky hands!

the talented shar briss from ill tempered ink was the co-mastermind (along with ali manning from vintage page designs) behind the gingersnap creations blog, (no longer active) and is the founder of unruly paper arts.  she is also the owner of a wonderful vintage-inspired rubber stamp company rogue redhead designs.  the three thrinchies above are her work and the stamp featured in the center creation is a rogue redhead designs stamp.  gorgeous, yes?  truly.  but wait, there's more...

these three beauties are the work of another wonderfully talented and inspiring artist and blogger, trisha too of easily amused hard to offend.  i just love the name of her blog!  she designs for numerous companies and constantly posts lovely art.  i implore you to visit both their blogs if you aren't already a follower-fan because either blog could give your mojo a serious boost.

whew!  company is gone, the house is almost back to its regularly messy state and i'm feeling okay.
enjoy; love to all.
