here is a fanciful lady and her animal companions for three muses art deco challenge; not sure that this is really entirely art deco but i felt a kinship with that style here anyway!
images from dezinaworld, itKuPiLLi, holliewood studios and songbirdy.
love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

HERE ARE MY CREATIONS FOR YOUR INSPIRATION -- using actual playing cards as my base, i turned four of the beautiful women of the nouveau inspirations collage sheet into the four queens of the card deck:
the queen of hearts
the queen of diamonds
the queen of spades
All images and papers used on the cards are from gecko galz except the letter Q (from mischief circus) and the heart/club/spade/diamond which came from open clip art.
and just for a last bit of fun -- a final little piece using this sheet, a 2x2 inch "twinchie," with a little seasonal hallowe'en flair:

lucky lucky me!
if you stop by this blog much you know i am a cindy adkins fan. in addition to her wonderful BLOG she has done an online blogging free seminar and she is also an incredible artist, encourager and friend. in the process of her designing my blog button based on my original art we had this email dialogue going about being an artist and she was very helpful to me. later while browsing her etsy shop i found something that was directly on point to my artist's journey. i'm going to show you that little treat LATER. for now i'm sharing 2 pieces of art she sent gratis with my order.
delicious, yes?
more hallowe'en goodies tomorrow.
love to all.

art deco birthday
time for my annual art deco birthday card for my art deco loving friend and co-worker ann. i'm late this year (which she is kind of used to) but the gift i got her is awesome -- i brought back a beautiful handmade one of a kind glass and copper angel made by an artist in nevada (found while on vacation this year). it will be perfect over her desk (or wherever). also while on vacation i was blog hopping around (yes even on vacation) and found some lovely vintage vogue image downloads from the fripperies and butterflies blog. the images were all a perfect fit for a card for her but i had to choose one so this is it.
i kept it simple: i placed the image over a nice burgundy colored circle i had in the stash and finished out with some die cuts and dots. i think she'll like.
enjoy; love to all.
