since i love making valentines, i'll be entering the gecko galz customer challenge "all you need is love"  many times. plus there are so many great gecko galz valentine images! to participate in the gecko galz challenge you must use at least one image by gecko galz. luckily there are freebies on the blog almost every day.

the background paper is from my artistic adventures, i pasted william shakespeare's sonnet 18 from the web, and the image of the couple, as well as the "i love you" are from gecko galz.

for take a word and moo mania and more -- both have the theme: "love is in the air." each year i create as many unique valentines as i can and last year i succeeded in giving one to everyone at work, about 40 people. i'm not quite there yet this year but i still have a few days! and creating many of them digitally to print out at ATC size makes the task easier! here are a few:

all the images and backgrounds are from crowabout studio b "heart wide open" except the background on the crow piece is from my artistic adventures.

we have one more week remaining to play along on the theme i've chosen for the current tag tuesday challenge which is "hearts."  here are two more tags for you.

i made all of these with the sweet girls from the crowabout studio b "love the world" digital kit (although for these i printed the images for my cut and glue collages). background papers are from "my artistic adventures" and the sentiments and tickets are from various gecko galz kits and collage sheets. ribbons and heart punches are from my stash of supplies.

last year i made valentines for everyone at my work place (about 40 folks). we will see if i succeed in that again this year!

so many hearts

as we are getting close to valentine's day and it is my turn to set the theme for the tag tuesday challenge i have chosen "hearts" as my theme. i've always liked making valentines (last year i made and gave more than 40!) so this theme is to give a jump start to those who share my love of hearts and doilies and all things lovey-dovey.

i made all of these with the sweet girls from the crowabout studio b "love the world" digital kit (although for these i printed the images for my cut and glue collages). background papers are from "my artistic adventures" and the words, bingo, and heart on third tag are from various gecko galz kits and collage sheets. ribbons, flowers and heart punches from my stash.

as with all the tag tuesday challenges this one runs for two weeks and i hope you'll join and have fun with it. i'll be posting more hearts and valentines in the coming weeks.

here are three creations in response to the take a word challenge to use mostly blue and green.

backgrounds on 1st 2 are from the la isla bonita paper pack by gecko galz with remaining images from dezinaworld (retired) tumblefish studios (retired) holliewood studios (fractals) and itKuPiLLi (butterflies). tiny hearts background on 3rd piece is from my artistic adventures.

sweet loving wishes to everyone!

i've always liked valentine's day -- whether or not i felt i had a valentine of my own.  i loved the little valentines we'd pass out at school and as an adult playing with stamps, collage images and digital images i still can't quite get enough.

i wanted to give valentine's to everyone at work -- about 40 people.  i had some left over from last year which i'd never given out and a few made earlier this year but i still had to make about 15 more.  the 4 ATCs above are made with vintage valentines from twisted papers and background papers and hearts from my artistic adventures.

the top left is made with twisted papers and my artistic adventures.  the remaining three are digital images -- bottom right and left are crowabout studio b ("love the world") and the rest are gecko galz.

these are all digital creations with images either from gecko galz or crowabout studio b.

so these are just a few of the new ones i made this year.  i'm exhausted now having just finished the night before -- but i just made it in time for valentine's day.

lost coast lovers valentine card

for challenge #33 at lost coast portal to creativity: lovers

the man and woman stamps are by lost coast, from the "up close and personal" stamp set.

i stamped them on paper from my artistic adventures and placed them on a background also by my artistic adventures from the "bitty hearts" paper pack.  the words are also from my artistic adventures.  the big red heart is a sticker.  edges are distressed with "old paper" distress ink.

instructions: i covered the ATC base with the paper and distressed the edges.  i fussy cut the image and adhered it along with the die cuts.

vintage valentines at gecko galz!

it is the lovely month of february! so of course we are creating valentines at the gecko galz customer challenge blog.  you are invited to play along with us for the chance to win gecko galz prizes.  more details below!

instructions: i covered the ATC base with the tiny hearts paper and distressed the edges.  i adhered the doily and the image from the collage sheet.  i cut and adhered the sentiment.  voila!

she loves her darling pup!

it has been a long while but i am playing along with the wicked wednesday ATC challenge this week, challenge theme is "cute and cuddly"

background script and woman with dog are by lunagirl.  "bitty" heart paper at bottom is from my artistic adventures. patterned heart, washi tape and sentiment from my stash.

dance by the light of the moon!

i've got some more goodies for the moo mania and more hallowe'en party theme; this time actual moos (approx. 1.1 x 2.8 inches).

the background on the moo is a day of the dead themed paper from sabor papel, with edges distressed in black ink.  the skeleton stamp by inkadinakado -- i stamped it on designer paper by gecko galz (the moon face is from gecko galz also) and painstakingly cut it out!  i adhered the moon face, skeleton and little die cut cat to make my creation.  because it has stamping, i'm entering this moo into the scary or weird challenge at lost coast portal to creativity.

for my second moo all images are from my artistic adventures, cut out and collages together to my satisfaction.

gecko galz inspiration for march and a freebie!

today is my day being featured on the gecko galz challenge blog so i have several 3 easter cards to inspire you to join our monthly challenge.  the challenge this month is "shabby chic easter."  see the instructions below to learn how to play along -- and to get a freebie as well.

supplies: gecko galz "easter joy" collage sheet (brand new this month); gecko galz "my little chickadee" collage sheet; background paper by my artistic adventures; rick rack; butterfly by anna griffin.

instructions: i covered my card stock with the heart paper from my artistic adventures then added the rick rack.  after cutting out images from the "easter joy" and "my little chickadee" collage sheets i glued those to the card and added the butterfly last.

supplies: gecko galz "floral symphony" paper pack; gecko galz "easter joy" collage sheet; bunny ribbon from my stash; butterfly by anna griffin.

instructions: after adhering the "floral symphony" paper on the card stock i added the image from the "easter joy" collage sheet.  i completed the piece with the ribbon and butterfly.

supplies: gecko galz "easter joy" collage sheet; gecko galz "card toppers" collage sheet; background paper by my artistic adventures; butterfly by anna griffin; ornate border from my stash.

instructions: i followed the same procedure here, cutting our my chosen pieces and gluing them to the cardstock.  i think this card is my favorite.

think spring!

the latest challenge at my artistic adventures challenge blog is "think spring!" i've made a spring-y tag with a music background by my artistic adventures etsy shop (actually from one of the christmas collage sheets -- but don't tell!) and a central image by gecko galz.

some prima flowers and lace are my final touches.  i do like the spring colors! i'm ready...

more gecko galz february inspiration

i've got another card with brand new images from the gecko galz shop to share today.  this may be my favorite one i made with the gecko products this month.

supplies: gecko galz “royal beauties 2” collage sheet; gecko galz “all you need is love” digital stamp set; gecko galz “love potion #9” paper pack; my artistic adventures vintage valentine sweethearts bitty collection paper pack by heather hudson; pink paislee “queen” stamp; felt lace border; washi tape; distress inks

instructions: card stock was covered with one of the papers from the vintage valentine sweethearts bitty collection and distressed with ink.  the “love me” digital stamp was printed on one of the papers from the gecko galz love potion #9 paper pack.  i cut out the digital stamp and the image from the royal beauties collage sheet.  i stamped the queen stamp on another paper from the vintage valentine sweethearts bitty collection paper pack.  i arranged everything to my satisfaction and then glued it all down and finished with the border and washi tape.
