steampunk girls at crafting by design

i have the fun of being a guest designer at crafting by design this week for their lunagirl sponsored steampunk challenge! i have 2 ATCs to share.

for this first piece i used the featured "steampunk girls" collage sheet as well as a butterfly from the "fly away home" collage sheet, both by lunagirl.  my background paper came from a "world traveler" paper pack by teresa collins designs.

i used images from the steampunk girls sheet again as well as paper from the teresa collins paper pack, along with other little bits and bobs from my stash.  i tried something a bit different -- printing the images on off-white (nearly beige!) paper instead of white paper as i usually do -- it gave a very cool sepia tone and i'm glad it tried it.

lunagirl sponsored challenge alert at crafting by design

as promised, i'm sharing details on a challenge featuring lunagirl images. lunagirl is the sponsor for the current challenge at crafting by design on the theme of "get ready for christmas."  i was delighted to make an ATC as a guest designer, using the lunagirl "winter fun" collage sheet.

i'm not really ready to think about cold weather and winter holidays but it was still fun to make this.

childhood memories challenge at crafting by design; altered deck update

this must be my guest designer week, lol!  so i'm happy to be a guest designer at crafting by design for their latest challenge which is "childhood memories."  the challenge sponsor is lunagirl moonbeams and the challenge winner will get some shopping credit at the lunagirl store.  you are challenged to evoke childhood memories in your creation for this challenge.  i made a valentine ATC using the lunagirl "retro children" collage sheet. 

i used some pretty background designer paper and punched a heart out of some additional designer paper.  i placed my fussy cut girl with puppies and valentine then added some white picket fence and an additional heart. 

do you have happy memories of sharing valentines as a child?  I still love to share them and make gobs of them every year.  hooray, now i have one valentine ready to go for next year!

in other news have you been wondering whether i am still playing along with claudine's altered card deck challenge? each week claudine gives a tutorial to walk you through making two cards.  we are on week 2.  during week 1 i was unable to play due to some work travel and therefore no art play time.  i was finally able to do the backgrounds for 4 cards, for weeks 1 and 2.

so here are my 4 backgrounds.  the top 2 are spray inks, the bottom left is done with alcohol inks and the 4th is distress inks. if all goes well i will get caught up this weekend to finish the 1st 4 cards.  and then be ready for cards 5 and 6 which she will give a tutorial for next monday.  sometime next week i should be sharing the 1st 4 finished cards!

guest designer spot at crafting by design!

it is an honor to be able to provide some crafty items for the latest challenge at crafting by design.  the current challenge is "birthday greetings" and the challenge sponsor is lunagirl moonbeams. as a member of the lunagirl DT i was asked to provide some goodies for this challenge.  i wanted to do something a little different so i decorated some gift bags to use for birthday gifts.

i've used 2 different vintage images from lunagirl -- the children on a donkey and the "birthday greetings;" the rest of the pieces are various designer papers, tissue tape, flowers, buttons and lace, etc.

here is another:

the frog invitation is from the "watercolor alice" collage sheet and the "happy birthday" is from one of the birthday collage sheets, both from lunagirl.  again, i've got sheet music, designer papers, tissue tape, flowers, a doily and more to decorate.
