feline friday

i discovered the feline friday blog hop at messy mimi's meanderings thanks to Nuria of bitacora literaria. the task is to post a photo, drawing, or similar of a cat. i used to have cats and i miss them a lot. this week, for the first time, i visited a local cat cafe. it's a place where for a fee you can visit some cats! here are two of the cats i met:

the 1st one pictured reminds me of an orange cat i had -- Gilda. a rare female orange. 

i had a good time at the cafe but i do not know if i would do it again. most of the cats were pretty sleepy which makes sense given that cats sleep 16-17 hours a day!

so i made a digital creation with some very awake kitties! using images from fusion dream print, designs by MANDN, dezinaworld (retired), and mischief circus (retired).

a good time either way!

i love when i get to host a sunday postcard art theme because it is a little creative challenge on how to inspire my blogland friends. so many artists love playing on the theme of the iconic mona lisa, i struggled to think of what i could do that might be a bit different. well, here's my inspiration on the mona theme for this week!

ancestors, guardians, and guides

for my soul's dark imagination: ignus factuus  i'm pretty late (out of town last week) but i wanted to participate in Kym's latest challenge. she introduced us all (well, new to me) to the concept of ignus factuus -- the ghostly balls of white light reportedly seen in bogs or marshes at twilight or night time. and other times and places as well i suspect.

here i've imagined these balls of light as ancestors, guardians, and guides -- this young woman is dealing with some troubling things. and though she cannot see it, she is protected, guided, and loved dearly by these beings who will help her through this challenging time, and who never leave her, good times or bad.
