nothing like a little tea party to make the day a bit better.  our prompt at tag tuesday is "cups and cutlery."  i'm hoping there is some cutlery on that little table there that will count since i mostly had cups!

angel card for a friend

i have a friend who could use an angel.  so i grabbed this image which was a freebie some time ago at the fripperies and butterflies blog.  i used some papers and a leaf from a collage paper pack actually given me by this same friend.  there is a torn bit of script paper from a lunagirl collage sheet as well.  the rest is stash.

i hope this offers her some of the grace she needs!

a very vintage christmas

here is a dear santa tag to wish you a merry christmas.  i know not everyone celebrates the holiday (and if so you may have long stopped visiting here since i've been posting christmas creations all month!) but whatever your celebrations, holidays or traditions i do most sincerely wish you happiness and i very much wish for peace on earth!

i made this in response to the tag tuesday prompt "a very vintage christmas."  the vintage image image of the jar is from gecko galz and the santa was a freebie from the fripperies and butterflies blog for the december challenge there though the image was provided by gecko galz.

fripperies and butterflies challenge

leanne at fripperies and butterflies blog offered up an "anything goes" challenge for november with the only requirement being that you use one of the free collage sheets that were made available through the gecko galz blog hop last month.  you can still grab all the gorgeous sheets here.  my tag for this challenge is called "love's wish."

i used images from the "moonlight" and "gypsy magic" collage sheets along with other things from my overflowing supplies.  i wish for sweetness and peace.  what do you wish for?

vintage tag

she is remembering with wistful happy thoughts, days spent in the flower garden amid the sweet chirps of swooping, circling birds and special times with dear friends. 

this tag is for two challenges. each month at fripperies and butterflies, blog host leanne provides a free collage sheet and we are challenged to create using that sheet and whatever theme she has chosen.  for august it is a french postcard challenge at fripperies and butterflies -- you don't have to make a postcard but you do have to use images from the free french postcards collage sheet she provided.  the woman and the stamps on this tag are from that sheet. the background paper is from itkupilli and the rest are stash items. the winner of this challenge will get a shopping spree at gecko galz.

the second challenge i'm entering is the vintage-inspired tag challenge at tag-along challenges. it is their one year anniversary at that challenge blog.  the challenge sponsor for that tag is lunagirl and the winner will get goodies from lunagirl.

fashionista challenge at fripperies and butterflies

some weeks ago i posted about a cool challenge at fripperies and butterflies blog:

well here i am coming in right under the wire before the july 15 due date with a creation made with one of the fabulous free images Leanne provided for this challenge.

i loved all the free images she provided and hoped to make several cards but this is the one i managed to get done on time -- i'll certainly continue working with these lovely images. thank you Leanne!

as usual i have a variety of background papers, tissue tape, flowers and a sweet butterfly brad.  i hope you enjoy!

pink saturday thoughts

i have a friend just diagnosed with breast cancer and going through chemo right now.  i've been trying to send pretty things to make her smile.  i thought i'd make her a new card today and decided to link it up to pink saturday. there are always all kinds of goodies linked up there each week so swing by if you can.

the sweet image on this card was a free image some months ago from the fripperies and butterflies blog.  it was one of a group that was offered up for a particular challenge and though i had every intention of participating the deadline got away from me. love the image though.

gingersnap creations color challenge #132...

it has been too long since i've played along with a gingersnap creations challenge. challenge #132 is a color challenge, "soft yellows and white."

the very sweet angel image was a free download from a wonderful blog, fripperies and butterflies.  the lovely yellow card stock is from paper temptress. remaining laces, stars and such are stash items.

a couple more vogue pieces

vintage vogue images from the fripperies and butterflies blog.  by the way you should stop by over there as Leanne has a nice giveaway going at the moment with a kit to make a mini book. these images were free downloads on her blog.  they are just beautiful and oh so classy.

most of the embellishments are from the good old stash but i wish to note that the beautiful background paper on the first (green) card was made by Linda at scrappinbears' studio.  awhile back she offered up some of her excess scrap papers and i was a lucky recipient.  in addition to just random lovely decorative papers there were some items she'd stamped and decorated herself.  this scrap is in that category.  yet another example of the talent and generosity in the blogosphere!

more vogue

greetings friends.  i'm still playing with the free downloads from the fripperies and butterflies blog. 

i love to work with vintage images; with a few simple embellishments you have a one of a kind card to share.  for this one i used simple cream colored card stock, a decoratively cut piece of green cardstock for contrast, some leafy greens adhesive stuff for a border, and some cream colored dots.  not sure to whom this shall go but i'll be ready when the need arises!

art deco birthday

time for my annual art deco birthday card for my art deco loving friend and co-worker ann.  i'm late this year (which she is kind of used to) but the gift i got her is awesome -- i brought back a beautiful handmade one of a kind glass and copper angel made by an artist in nevada (found while on vacation this year).  it will be perfect over her desk (or wherever).  also while on vacation i was blog hopping around (yes even on vacation) and found some lovely vintage vogue image downloads from the fripperies and butterflies blog.  the images were all a perfect fit for a card for her but i had to choose one so this is it.

i kept it simple:  i placed the image over a nice burgundy colored circle i had in the stash and finished out with some die cuts and dots.  i think she'll like.
