here comes the sun!

hello friends! in my hemisphere it is fully summer. in fact there are heatwaves in many locations around the globe, so i hope that all are able to keep cool and safe. i picked my theme for tag tuesday awhile back -- "here comes the sun," and i also have an optional twist for you! the challenge is to use the sun in your tag, and the optional twist is to use an image of the Beatles!

here are my samples, followed by the famous song to provide further inspiration!

images and papers are mostly from gecko galz with a few others from retired mischief circus kits, and words/sentiments from tim holtz; the yellow submarine image i pulled from the world wide web...

mustard yellow, ICAD 17

the theme today for the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art is "mustard yellow." i attempted to create the color i wanted using acrylic paint colors raw sienna and hansa yellow. i should have used more of the yellow. i swirled with my paintbrush a bit for more texture.

the rest is rubber stamping with stamps from hero arts (sun), 100 proof press (quote) and studios blackbird (dots).

i'm hosting the new two week challenge at tag tuesday. because i am so grateful summer has come to my hemisphere i've chosen the theme "here comes the sun!" i live in the pacific northwest USA where it can stay pretty grey for many months so the arrival of sunshine feels extra wonderful.
