i was away on vacation but i took some collaging supplies with me and for several days i kept up with my ICADs but i fell off after a few days and have not yet picked it back up. perhaps i'll get back on it soon. i finished my owl series and started the chanteuse series...

it is day 3 of ICAD 2021 -- the index card a day challenge as sponsored by daisy yellow art. the challenge is to make art on an index card for 61 days from june 1 to july 31; this is my second year playing along. so far i am continuing with my plan to work in a mini-series using the same images for 3-5 days. the ICAD theme today was lyrics but i included a bit of a page from shakespeare's king lear, my favorite of his plays.

ICAD 2021!

it is june 1 and so begins ICAD 2021 -- the index card a day challenge as sponsored by daisy yellow art. i did this last year for the first time and i am giving it another go -- the challenge is to make art on an index card for 61 days from june 1 to july 31. this year my plan is to work in mini-series using the same images for 3-5 days, just to play with different ways to use them. well, that is the plan so far...

i'm starting with this gecko galz owl. the prompt today was "contraption" and my nod to that is the steampunk themed paper (also gecko galz) and the hot air balloon from an ItKuPiLLi set.

i'm warming up!

sunday postcard art time! theme today is "bear." i have an enchanted forest with enchanted bear and friends.

all mischief circus, various artists in the enchanted forest collaboration and the bear is from eena's creations winter wonderland.

and now, trumpet flare: my final two index cards in this the final week of the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art.  61 cards in 61 days. although i did not success in making an index card every single day, i did do it probably 56 out of the 61 days and because i played catch up i completed all 6 cards. an achievement i'd never done before!

the homestretch

this is the final week of the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art. this started on june 1 and ends july 31. although there have been a couple days i had to catch up, i mostly did a card every single day so far. i just have to keep pushing through to friday, wow! here are the two cards for yesterday and today, free-style.

the sunday postcard art challenge today is: night sky. with such a lovely theme i ended up making 2 postcards.

on the proper day and on prompt: today's "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art, is on the theme of "paisley." 

i printed a paisley image from the web, cut the pieces out and traced onto various gecko galz papers and cut out the pieces to make my own paisley pattern. underneath that is some watercolor spray inks and a stencil that didn't work out for a different project so it became the background for this one. the woman, word, and her crown are from ART TEA LIFE.

this next index card uses some images (face and background) i just learned about and am absolutely in love with from ART TEA LIFE (one crab apple).

this last one started with painting the background with acrylic paints (I actually followed the prompt on this one which was "blue or blueberry").

then i stamped the mermaid, masked it and stamped the waves (both from retired meer images company) and embossed with black glitter embossing powder. same with the octopus (missing link stamp co.)

i rubber stamp and collage because i am insecure about my drawing "skills." but i couldn't really bring all kinds of collaging or stamping supplies on a short trip so i had to draw. it is pretty elementary but here are the three i made while away (i brought index cards with me which i'd already made backgrounds for with watercolor inks and crackle paint):
