color challenge: blue and green

for tag tuesday's latest challenge: blue and green. our challenge host is wendy.

for this tag i use a sheet of dictionary paper to affix to my cardboard tag base, then spritzed it with blue and green watercolors. i took a tim holtz paper doll and colored it with blue and green alcohol markers. i added a flower, a dominoes border and a word i thought represented this fierce little girl.

love to all.

book pages; round two

this is week two of our latest challenge at tag tuesday as hosted by our lovely DT sister Pinky: book pages. use book pages on your tag to meet this challenge.

for this tag i started with a book page i had in my stash, spritzed it with water color inks, added a clock and dominoes from a sticker set, and featured some little girls from a tim holtz paper doll set. i have a butterfly brad from eyelet outlet as well.

one week left to play!

love to all.

yes, i was listening to Carly Simon this weekend ("you're so vain")....

===========================

and now, updates for 4 days worth of the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow arti was traveling for a few days so didn't get my index cards posted but i made them!
33: periwinkle
34: board game
35: lantern
36: ocean (i was back home for this one)

i rubber stamp and collage because i am insecure about my drawing "skills." but i couldn't really bring all kinds of collaging or stamping supplies on a short trip so i had to draw. it is pretty elementary but here are the three i made while away (i brought index cards with me which i'd already made backgrounds for with watercolor inks and crackle paint):

and i finished yesterdays' "ocean" card today -- still have to get on today's card which i'll likely share tomorrow.

love to all.

party hat cats

hello again and happy new year! at tag tuesday we are challenged to "celebrate" and at lost coast portal to creativity we've got "anything goes." so i brought out my lost coast designs "party hat cat" stamps to party with!

despite their serious faces, these cats are decked out in party hats for sweet celebration.  my backgrounds are spritzed watercolor inks and the stamping is done simply in dark blue and dark brown inks. the super cool fiber ribbons were a gift.

play along!

i love cats, i love art, and i love a nice party.
happiness and love to all.

favourite stamp

last week a new two week challenge opened up at tag tuesday -- use your favourite stamp, theme selected by DT member joan. well, i have hundreds of stamps and am hard pressed to identify a favourite. i have always liked the simplicity of this pear stamp by rubber stampede.

the background paper is from the gecko galz curiosity shop digital craft kit and i stamped the pear on a dictionary page after spritzing it with water color inks. there's a little washi tape and enamel dots on here too.

one week to play along! please join us!
love to all.

the circus is coming to town

for the new two week challenge theme at tag tuesday: book print

i covered my tag base with a real page from a dictionary then spritzed it with spray inks.  the stamps are from character constructions, one of my favorite stamp companies.

enjoy; love to all.

telegramme, from paris!

lunagirl is the challenge host for an "anything goes" challenge at "creates and makes" challenge blog.  meanwhile the new two week challenge at tag tuesday has the theme of "paris."
here is a collaged tag for these challenges:

the background is done by spraying watercolor inks through a flower stencil. the images are from lunagirl collage sheets and i finished with a butterfly sticker and ribbon from my stash.

enjoy; love to all.

gecko galz circus journal pages

happy july! each month at gecko galz one of the design team members takes a turn sharing a journal page and a tutorial for the page.  this month i'm up!  but first let me tell you that the customer challenge on the gecko galz blog this month is "in a mermaid's garden."

link up your mermaid creations for the chance to win gecko galz prizes; additional info on how to play along is at the bottom of this post. now, for my journal pages!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

last month our theme was circus and i am so in love with all things circus that i stayed with that theme for my journal pages.  i started by printing several circus themed collage sheets and cutting out the images i thought i'd like to use.

and then of course the fussy cutting began.  i wasn't sure which images i would ultimately use so i cut out a lot that i liked.  the ones i didn't use went into an envelope for a future project.  i also remembered there were a couple other sheets i wanted to work with so i included those in this photo.

next i had to decide which journal to use, a large one or a small one?

i chose the smaller (6x6) and next explored what layout of images i might like.

for the background i knew i wanted to use watercolor spray inks and lots of washi tape.

after spritzing the pages and impatiently waiting for them to dry i started to apply washi tape.

at this point i got so busy making that i forgot to take additional photos.  here are the completed pages.

some flowers and enamel dots made for a nice finishing touch. so here is my happy little circus fantasy, i hope you like it!

by the way, here are the collage sheets i used:
circus circus
circus life
darling dragonflies
charming words.
