the latest dark imagination theme at kym's my soul's dark imagination is freaky circus clowns. kym shared a bunch of clown freebies for us to play with and i chose two from her batch for my creations.

 our challenge for our midweek muse is to use a quote. i'd been eager to use a new kit from miles beyond the moon, cirque de la lune. i found a nice circus quote and i was good to go.

enter the rabbit, exit the tiger

this week's challenge at sunday postcard art, in honor of the upcoming lunar new year, is "year of the rabbit." we were also asked what is our animal year in the lunar zodiac? well i was year of the tiger which is about to end. here are my two pieces, entering the rabbit, exiting the tiger!

this week's challenge at sunday postcard art is peter pan. here are two fight scenes in the classic rivalry between peter pan and the fiendish captain hook.

folk art?

for sunday postcard art this week the theme is "folk art." i wasn't entirely sure what to do with that, my light research suggested art that is typically practical in nature, also typically a product of unschooled/untrained artists, and also related to a particular culture. i still did not know what to do, but lots of samples i saw had flowers so that's where i started. and perhaps got carried away! then added some human images for (hopefully) added visual interest. maybe these women are the artists who worked with all those flowers...
