good and bad?

who is to say what is good and bad?  beautiful or ugly?  positive or negative?  for the "good, bad, and ugly" challenge at the cheeky challenge i realized i could not answer these questions so i made this:

background by gecko galz and silhouette by floppy latte, same image used twice but inverted.

hearts and flowers, continued

hearts and flowers are always lovely themes for cards.  the current challenge at the cheerful stamp pad is "hearts and flowers" -- link up a creation including either or both hearts and flowers for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor stitchy bear stamps.  our DT was given digital images from stitchy bear artist floppy latte for our creations.  here is my week 2 card:

the digital image is called "large shaded flower" and i printed it on gecko galz paper and then colored it with colored pencils.  i cut that piece and layered it on a second piece of designer paper from gecko galz then added borders, distressing and a punched heart.  this card could be used for a birthday, get well, sympathy or any number of occasions.  you have one more week to link up.

hearts and flowers

the new two week challenge at the cheerful stamp pad is "hearts and flowers,"  a challenge sponsored by stitchy bear stamps.  our DT was given digital images from stitchy bear company floppy latte to work with.  i was asked to use a digital image called "doves and heart frame."  i thought this image would make a nice wedding gift tag.

i used some designer paper from gecko galz for the background and decided not to color the digital stamp but to just print it out, fussy cut it and add it to the colorful paper. i picked up on the white color theme by using a white die cut border, a white heart brad and white ribbon.  i also added a sentiment stamp from my stash.

for this challenge: please link up a new creation to the challenge blog that includes either or both hearts AND flowers.  a randomly selected winner will receive a prize from the stitchy bear online store.

love to all.

fairy silhouette

for week two of the silhouette challenge at the cheerful stamp pad i have another fairy silhouette to share.  our challenge sponsor is stitchy bear stamps; a randomly selected winner will win a prize from stitchy bear. for this challenge our DT is working with digital images by the designer floppy latte.

once again i've printed a PNG image onto paper by itKuPiLLi.  after adhereing that to card stock i added a fanciful border at the bottom and highlighted the moon and starts with a silver molotow pen.  i stamped "dream," a stamp by inkadinkado onto an additional paper by itKuPiLLI and added that as well.

link up with your silhouette creation for a chance to win!  we love to see your art.

silhouettes challenge at the cheerful stamp pad

we are working with silhouettes for the next two weeks at the cheerful stamp pad.  our challenge sponsor once again is stitchy bear digital stamps and the featured artist is floppy latte. join our challenge and make a creation featuring a silhouetted image and you'll have the chance of winning a prize from our sponsor.  here is my first inspiration piece for you.

thanks to our sponsor for providing digital images by floppy latte to our DT i had this lovely fairy silhouette to work with.  i sized it and printed the digital PNG file onto mystical paper by itKuPiLLi. i adhered this image to cardstock.  i stamped my sentiment by penny black onto another paper by itKuPiLLi.  i added a die cut from my stash for a border.

i hope you will join our challenge.  love to all.

monogram week 2

we're working with monograms for another week at the cheerful stamp pad, playing with digital images by floppy latte digital designs as provided by our challenge sponsor stitchy bear stamps.  play along with our challenge by linking up a creation with a monogram or letters for a chance to win shopping credit at stitchy bear.

for this card i used an "R" for my mother Regina.  i printed it on colored paper and further colored it with colored pencils.  i added it to some cardstock covered with primavera paper by itKuPiLLi then added a lace border, some pearls and a bird image from lunagirl.

enjoy; love to all.

monogram challenge

challenge 102 at the cheerful stamp pad is "monogram" and we are using flowery lovely monograms created by floppy latte and made available to us through our challenge sponsor stitchy bear stamps.  as usual a randomly selected challenge winner will get some digital images from stitchy bear.

this is a birthday card for my friend yvette who bemoans the fact that when you shop for letter items they almost never have the letter "y" and she is right because now i always look and i never do find any of the "y" names!  so i colored this monogram digital image with colored pencils and then covered my cardstock with primavera paper by itKuPiLLi and added flowers and a lace border to finish.

whether you use a formal monogram or just create something using initials or letters your project will be welcome and eligible for a prize!

enjoy; love to all.

time to decorate...

just in time for the holidays is the "let's decorate" theme at cheerful stamp pad.  your challenge is to make decorations for the holiday season if you like OR just use embellishment.  link up your creation to be eligible for the random draw for a prize from floppy latte designs, a digital stamp company.

i took advantage of this challenge as an opportunity to share an ornament i created for an ornament swap with the gecko galz yahoo group.

i'm linking up to the "christmas preparations" challenge at the frilly and funkie challenge blog.

front:

back:

the base of the ornament is a chipboard ornament frame from retro cafe art.  it is painted with alcohol inks on both sides and covered in designer paper on one side.  my primary vintage images are from gecko galz and the rest are embellishments i've been gathering up for christmas card making -- little die cuts, charms, flowers, pearls, yarn.  the dots on the first side were made with a white poster paint pen.

i took the photos by hanging the ornament on my banana stand!
this year is the first time i tried making ornaments and frankly it was way more difficult than i thought it would be. anyway more ornaments to come later on.  you don't have to make an ornament to join the challenge, just use lots of embeliies!

love to all.

for week two of the "april showers bring may flowers" challenge at the cheerful stamp pad i used a lovely silhouette digital image from our challenge sponsor floppy latte designs.

i kept it simple: a light touch with colored pencils, some pretty origami paper, additional flowers and the dream stamp by inkadinkado.

april showers bring may flowers...

spring hasn't quite hit everywhere yet but anyway at the cheerful stamp pad we're celebrating spring flowers for the next two weeks.  our challenge sponsor is floppy latte designs and the randomly selected winner of this challenge will get some lovely digis from their shop.  my DT creation features the "artsy flower" digi from floppy latte:

i colored the digi with colored pencils and created a background by overlaying three different designer papers.  the papers on the far left is actually a background design paper from twisted papers.  i love mixing up different papers!  some little sparkly beads finish the piece.

please consider joining our challenge.
love to all.
