white space and valentines

happy valentine's day for those who celebrate! 

first, here s something for the our midweek muse white space challenge:

and next, here are some of the valentines i made for my work mates this year. altogether i did about 25 designs for our staff of 54. making 54 unique cards was just too much! 

all of the above cards are made with a variety of images form retired mischief circus kits. lots of crowabout studio B, tumblefish studios, holliewood studios,  and itKuPiLLi for example.

i might share more valentines later this week.

earrings; white space

3 things today: 1st for ICAD #32, the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art: "earrings" theme. my idea was to go with the "girl with a pearl" but i got a little abstract with it.

exploring "white space"

at three muses the new challenge is "white space." the first time i saw a challenge like that i thought i had to actually leave white space in the creation. (if you want a chuckle about that see this post.)

since then i learned it is really more like creating "empty" space to create balance in the art piece. i'm still exploring this and hoping to get it right; i am totally at kindergarten level on this subject. here are some things i tried:

o is for owl

our prompt at tag tuesday this week is "white space."  perhaps I took this idea too literally...

i've been eager to use this "queen owl" stamp from 100 proof press so i gave it a little corner of my tiny tag (approximately 1.3 by 3 inches) and added an "o" sticker.
