asemic writing for tag tuesday

happy leap day!

here today for the tag tuesday: asemic writing challenge prompt. our DT sister Sandie over at tag tuesday has challenged us to use "asemic writing," which she describes as "a wordless open semantic form of writing. the word asemic means "having no specific content" or "without the smallest unit of meaning." always good to learn something new! 

my tag is made with a dictionary page, figures from a tim holtz kit, a domino border, a dragonfly brad, and my own go at asemic writing with a sharpie. there are just a few days left to play along if you'd like to join in!

ICAD #3 "album"

it is day 3 for the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art. and now I'm 3 for 3! the challenge is to make art on an index card (either 3x5 or 4x6) every day through July 31.  today's theme is "album," you don't have to follow the theme but so far i've played along.

the duke ellington stamp is from stampsmith. the image of record albums is from pixabay. i used letters and a dragonfly brad from my stash.

this is a birthday card i made for my son this month.

the background and dragonfly are from gecko galz; the man is from the lunagirl african american CD; the postcard bit is a sticker from my stash and the sentiment comes from a tim holtz set.

many angel wings

if you can't get enough of angels and wings then the current challenge at the cheerful stamp pad is definitely for you.  our theme is angel wings and our challenge sponsor is michelle perkett studios, a digital stamp image company.  the randomly selected winner will get some nice digis.

for my DT sample i used another tutorial from the technique junkies newsletter -- called "depth of field."  my angel stamp is from judikins. the cardstock was spritzed with watercolor inks, then torn, distressed and added to a brown cardstock base.  i added a quote which i printed from my computer and distressed; it is a quote i love.  i added a dragonfly sticker and some other flourishes.
