tea garden memories

for take a word this week we are invited to create with asia in mind. this made me think of my childhood growing up in san francsico, california, visiting the japanese tea garden at golden gate park. this creation is a poor homage to those days but it was always so much fun exploring the pagodas, koi ponds, the amazing landscaping and always ending the excursion having japanese tea and treats at the tea house.

images here are from pixabay, itKuPiLLi imagenarium and (retired) miles beyond the moon.

enjoy; love to all.

gecko galz june customer challenge -- tea for two

it is a new month, a new challenge, and all kinds of new products at the gecko galz shop. our customer challenge for the month of june is "tea for two."  link a creation to the challenge blog that features tea and uses at least one item from gecko galz.

here are the details on this card.  all the gecko galz products noted are new this month.

supplies: gecko galz "pretty portraits” collage sheet, gecko galz “high tea” collage sheet, gecko galz high tea paper pack, wings by moonlight journey, washi tape, paper flower and enamel dot, distress inks.

instructions:  i started by adhering the high tea paper to my cardstock and distressing the edges.  i glued on the image from the high tea collage sheet.  i added washi tape to the top edge and distressed the edges again.  i cut out the image from the pretty portraits collage sheet and the wings from moonlight journey and attached the wings to the lady.  next i then added the lady with wings to the card.  i added more washi tape, did more distressing and finished with the paper flower and enamel dot.

remember there are always freebies on the blog, and if you join the newsletter mailing list you'll get a free collage sheet every month.  i hope you will play along.
