    two weeks of tag tuesday

this week's prompt at tag tuesday is "layer upon layer" and last week's was "shakespeare."  since i didn't have time to play last week i made tags for both themes today.

i layered multiple travel-themed vintage images from lunagirl for this tag.  i added some travel stickers and a traveling butterfly brad!

my shakespeare tag didn't turn out quite how i'd hoped.  in any event the woman in the stars is a lunagirl vintage image, with background paper from gecko galz and the stamp is from a shakespeare stamp set but i cannot see what company it is from.

    enjoy.  love to all.

    a girl abroad

"look at all the places i've visited!" exclaims young cecile as she sends a postcard salute to her beloved grandmere.  for week two of the "travel to faraway places" at the cheerful stamp pad challenge blog i've made a  4x6 postcard featuring a young girl traveling all over europe.  all of the vintage images are from our challenge sponsor lunagirl.

i started with the 4x6 cardboard base and arranged images from the lunagirl collage sheets including "maps," "dreams of paris," "scenes from europe," "carte postale" and "steampunk girls."  i think there are 7 images used here altogether!  i also used washi tapes, prima flowers and some die cuts from a travel set i had in my stash.

i had fun making this and thinking about this adventurous girl's trip abroad.  i hope you enjoy this postcard and that you will also be inspired to join our challenge -- one more week to go!  remember,  a randomly selected challenge participant will get a prize of vintage images from lunagirl -- a wonderful treat, almost as good as getting to take a trip!

    love to all.

    parisian dreams

summertime is often considered travel time so the latest two week challenge at the cheerful stamp pad "travel to faraway places" is right on time.  our challenge sponsor is lunagirl vintage images; a randomly selected winner of the challenge will win a prize from our sponsor.

my creation is a memory of a romantic parisian adventure using college sheets from lunagirl ("maps" and "dreams of paris") and an "arch top reliquary shrine" from alpha stamps.  the shrine is 2 chipboard pieces, a base and the arch cover.  i created a collage using three images from lunagirl and some washi tape and adhered them to the base.  i painted the arch cover with lindys stamp gang starburst stains in "opal sea oats" and when that was dry i glued it to the base.  sadly the scan does not show the full shimmery-ness of the starburst stain.  after that i added a prima flower.

i hope you like it!  whether it is summer or winter where you live, and whether you have a vacation coming up or not, i hope you will play along.

    love to all.

    "you make a lovely couple"

here is a honeymoon postcard from a lovely couple starting off married life with fun in the sun in florida and the caribbean islands.

i offer this postcard as inspiration for you to join challenge #64 at the cheerful stamp pad: "you make a lovely couple." these two certainly do.  the image is from twisted papers, our generous challenge sponsor. the randomly selected winner will get some twisted paper goodies (and they have loads of vintage goodies!). i've included a postcard base which i decorated with inks, a piece of ocean-feeling background paper, a bit of map, and other travel and beach themed border bits and stickers.

i'm also linking this vacation postcard to the unruly paper arts vacation themed postcard reader art quest.  this 4x6 creation celebrates love and travel and i definitely "wish i was there!"  that's alright, later this summer my DH and i head to lake tahoe and then i can get my beach groove on too!

    love to all.
