too hot!

for week two of the "weekend activities" challenge at the cheerful stamp pad i chose a summery digital image by designer bb kakes from our challenge sponsor stitchy bear digital outlet. i guess her activity is trying to cool off!

i colored the digi with colored pencils and cut her out to arrange her on a die cut with coordinating cardstock.  i added a sun and a word which tells the story -- it is so hot she has to sit on ice, drink lemonade and use a little hand-held fan!  i can relate.

you're my teddy bear

i was never really a teddy bear girl but i got a free teddy bear stamp once (past time stamps) which i'd never used until i saw this week's challenge at wicked wednesday:  teddy bears!  wicked wednesday challenges are always to make ATCs.

i stamped the teddy onto colorful designer paper and placed that on the cardboard ATC base.  i added a rose and a butterfly since this is kind of a lovey-dovey piece.  the butterfly is a brad from alphastamps.

bird people ATCS received! and a couple more by me.

with permission from the artists, i am sharing the glorious bird people ATCs i received from the swap hosted by marion at the bockel24 blog.

left to right these beauties came from daniela rogali of berlin, germany, sabine busch of bremen germany and jo murray from queensland, australia.  this was a very international swap!  and each piece so expertly done.

i didn't swap these two, they were extras.  my images are from lunagirl, graphics fairy and paula's kits club. stamp (eeyore sentiment) by silver crow creations.

i had a ball merging people and bird parts and it has inspired me to try some other new things -- which will soon be shared here!

gardening on the weekend

new challenge time at the cheerful stamp pad!  the challenge theme is "weekend activities" and our sponsor is stitchy bear digitals.  a randomly selected challenge winner will get shopping credit with our sponsor.  for this challenge our DT was given some images by digi designer bb kakes.  i chose a sweet little gardener girl for my card.

i colored this little cutie with colored pencils and cut her out to place her on some pretty sky paper and place her on cardstock.  i chose a variety of other little images to create the garden scene.

for this challenge you can depict whatever weekend activity you love and then link your new creation up at the cheerful stamp pad!

a time for work, a time for tea

for this week's tag tuesday challenge: "tag on tag" and also for the june gecko galz challenge "ladies of long ago" i offer this tag combo featuring several vintage images by gecko galz (background designer paper, washi tape and fiber are from my stash).  first you work in the garden, and then you enjoy your nice hot cup of tea.

by the sea

my favorite things include the ocean and the beach so the reader art quest for june at unruly paper arts is right up my alley -- it is "by the sea."  thinking beach and ocean also makes me think vacation so i made a 4x6 postcard.

the base is cardstock i spritzed with a variety of spray inks.  it is covered in designer paper, borders and images all from alphastamps.  there are some additional stickers from my stash here and there on this piece.

fruits and veggies #2

hello and welcome to week two at the cheerful stamp pad's fruits and veggies challenge theme with challenge sponsor stitchy bear.  this week i made my DT creation with a digital image from scrappers delight -- fruity baby-citrus.

i colored this cute fruity baby with pencils and set her up with background papers and a sentiment by TLC creations and some summery tissue tape.  this one really makes me think of summer and i am very ready for it!

a randomly selected participant in the challenge will get some digital images from stitchy ear so i hope you will play along -- make any new creation with fruits or vegetables as the main theme.
