enjoy; love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

april showers bring may flowers...
spring hasn't quite hit everywhere yet but anyway at the cheerful stamp pad we're celebrating spring flowers for the next two weeks. our challenge sponsor is floppy latte designs and the randomly selected winner of this challenge will get some lovely digis from their shop. my DT creation features the "artsy flower" digi from floppy latte:
i colored the digi with colored pencils and created a background by overlaying three different designer papers. the papers on the far left is actually a background design paper from twisted papers. i love mixing up different papers! some little sparkly beads finish the piece.
please consider joining our challenge.
love to all.

spring fling! (#2)
here is the second "spring fling" creation i made for the recent swap at alpha stamps. our challenge was to use a spring theme on a 4x4 chipboard base with the primary images coming from alphastamps.
i've had this image from alphastamps for a long time and she seems quite springy to me so here she is! a variety of coordinating designer papers and other bits finish this piece.
as this swap has closed i am looking forward to getting my swap pieces in return in a week or so.
love to all.

gothic cuties #2
week two for the gothic cuties challenge at the cheerful stamp pad. our challenge sponsor is dilly beans and this company makes loads of digital stamps -- cute, creepy, and everything in between. for my week two DT piece i made an ATC with "ragdoll ruby" from dilly beans.
i started with an ATC base and layered some coordinating papers -- ripping the top piece in keeping with the "rag" theme. since she has button eyes i thought some additional buttons were appropriate.
enjoy! consider joining our challenge, and love to all.

numbers challenges
a few of my blog friends have been entering challenges at moo-mania and i decided to give it a go myself. and quite conveniently the current challenge at moo mania is the same as a current challenge at scraps of color -- NUMBERS. so first of all a "moo" is impossibly, ridiculously small -- 1.1 by 2.8 inches. the smallest canvas i've worked with so far is a 2x2 twinchie. this really challenged me! i had to start by wracking my brain as to what creative thing i could do with numbers in a very small space. here is what i created.
i started with the idea that this creation should be somewhat industrial and i had some border images with small number measurements. the background paper is actually a blueprint from an airplane design which i tore off an airplane museum brochure. i then used some of the border pieces, a little steampunk brad from alpha stamps and the eyes were cut from a collage sheet that i am pretty sure came from moonlight journey. the eyes represent my dubious view on this moo business.
not bad for a first go, eh?
love to all.

wicked wednesday black, white and one color challenge
here is an ATC for the current challenge at wicked wednesday -- black, white and one other color.
the beautiful celestial goddess digital stamp is from cs-designs. the dream stamp is from inkadinkado. both are arranged on some black and white designer paper with a few other goodies of course. my goddess is sending peace and love to all those who suffered in boston, west texas and all over the world where tragic circumstances try to crush the human spirit.
as always, love to all.
