april gecko galz inspiration -- showcasing some fabulous papers

every month gecko galz releases new products and these products always include a variety of gorgeous papers. recently i purchased a few prima doll stamps so i decided to do a paper-pieced prima doll showcasing several of the new papers from gecko galz.  my final creation is an easter card.

i used a combination of papers from the new easter parade paper pack and the new flower power paper pack.  i stamped my prima doll "mindy" several times on the different papers.  and then i commenced a whole lot of cutting and gluing! i took some cardstock and cut it to make a card -- about the same size for a legal sized envelope.  i covered that cardstock wiht two more of the gecko galz papers, then added a gecko galz easter image from the easter icons set.  the final step was stamping "happy easter" on more of the gecko galz paper and adding that to the card.  my stamp is from savvy stamps.

spring chickens in their easter bonnets!

it is spring and easter and there are chickens about!  the new challenge at lunagirl moonbeams is "spring chickens."  link up a creation with chickens, eggs, spring babies, etc for the chance of shopping credit at the lunagirl store.  i have a tag here from the "spring chickens" collage sheet at lunagirl.

there are background papers here from gecko galz, itKuPiLLi, and washi tape, flowers and brads (did you catch that little bunny in the corner?), ribbon, etc.  the stamp is by savvy stamps.  this one makes me grin.

april customer challenge at gecko galz: "easter time"

in celebration of spring and easter over at the gecko galz blog you are invited to link projects on the theme of easter.  there are a number of wonderful images brand new at the gecko galz shop this month which are perfect for this theme.  here is a sample card featuring some of the new items provided in the hopes of sparking your interest:

the background paper is from the "easter parade" paper pack.  the bunny and the chick are from the "easter icons" set (PNG images) and i added them to the background paper digitally and then printed it.  after adhering the design to card stock i simply distressed the edges, added a border at the bottom, a dragonfly brad and a stamped sentiment -- the "happy easter" stamp is from savvy stamps  and it was stamped on additional paper by gecko galz.

kisssed again! on pink saturday...

another cool challenge on the french kissed postcards blog is "kissed again."  a challenge to use any french kissed image by Trishia in any way.  this blog has wonderful free downloads every month but the images in the two pieces below are ones that i purchased from her etsy or zibbet shop.

these are wonderful images by Trishia which got me started on easter cards.  both projects are simple.  i've adhered the images to pretty designer papers and then to pink cardstock.  they are embellished with flowers and pearls.  the "happy easter" stamp came from savvy stamps.

all this wonderful pink makes this post perfect for Beverly's pink saturday party.  check out all the other pink creations at her weekly party.  this works for pearls and lace thursday too! enjoy!
