time and clocks

as we prepare to enter a new year with some hope and anticipation, i've chosen time and clocks for my two week challenge theme at tag tuesday. i plan to enter the new year with a sense of whimsy and possibility! here are some tags to get us started.

happy new year! and a new gecko galz challenge

may your new year be full of joy and love!  a new year is always another chance to start fresh and work toward good things.

in celebration of thoughts of love, gecko galz' customer challenge for january is "courtly love." create on our theme for the chance at a prize.  it is always good to think a loving thought.  here is a postcard on our theme to get us started.

supplies: gecko galz victorian spring icons; gecko galz love potion number 9 icons; gecko galz vintage flirtations collage sheet; card stock, die cuts

instructions: i printed the post card image from the victorian icons and adhered it to a cardboard backing.  i fussy cut the couple from the courtly love collage sheet as well as the tickets and other images from the love potion number 9 icons.  i added a butterfly and heart die cut from my stash and adhered all items to create my collage.

supplies: gecko galz happy new year collage sheet; gecko galz st peter's square paper pack; anna griffin die cut star; calendar page; distress ink.

instructions: i covered the tag base with paper from the st peter's square paper pack and distressed the edges.  i glued on the calendar page and cut it to fit. i fussy cut the pierrot, phrase and clock from the happy new year collage sheet and added those as well.  i added the star last.

a lime green new year

for week two of the "anything goes -- use some lime green" challenge at tag tuesday i have a happy new year tag.

the background paper, new year sentiment and characters/clock are all from gecko galz.  the rest are bits and bobs from my stash.  happy new year time really isn't that far away!  i'm hoping for a happy 2018.

in 2016 i discovered digital art.  i still love cutting and gluing to makie traditional collages but playing in the magical digital realm is my new love.  i wonder what i'll discover in 2017?

let it snow!

happy new year!  

welcome to a new month, new products and a new challenge at the gecko galz customer challenge blog -- "let it snow!"  here is my first piece of inspiration for you on this theme:

supplies: gecko galz winter wonderland paper pack; gecko galz "winter beauties" collage sheet; snowflake and reindeer by anna griffin; distress ink; paper tape.

instructions: i covered card stock with paper from the winter wonderland paper pack, distressed the edges and adhered the snowflake.  i fussy cut the image from the winter beauties collage sheet and arranged it with the reindeer to glue to the card.  paper tape was added last at the bottom.

on the new year card above:

supplies: gecko galz "ring in the new year" collage sheet; lace, border, die cut, paper flower, enamel dot, distress ink and background paper from my stash.

instructions: i cut the tag from designer paper cardstock and distressed the edges, i arranged and adhered all other elements to suit me.
