using digital backgrounds at lunagirl

time for a new two week challenge at lunagirl moonbeams -- using digital backgrounds.  i used a "seed plants" background sheet from lunagirl and decided to make it the basis for a canvas.

i started with a 4 x 4 canvas, covered it in flowery design paper (which you really cannot see here) and then used a torn piece from the seed catalog.  all is distressed with distress inks. looking at the seeds and flowers on the catalog caused some garden fairies to show up.  although garden fairies was the theme 2 challenges ago at lunagirl they are apparently still flitting about.  the little girls are from the lunagirl african american vintage CD and the wings are from the "fly away hone" collage sheet.  i have some other stash goodies too.

the "its all treasure" play date

i was fortunate to play along with gerri's play date.  she provided a stash of fun creative items and sent them out to several players.  i had a few delays and did not get my art to her on time but i still wanted to post it and give you all the chance to check out her blog and all the beautiful creations there.

i used a 4x4 canvas painted with acrylic paint.  there is also a blob of gold gesso in the corner which was actually a mistake but one which worked well with the elements supplied for this play date.  after the painted canvas, everything else here came from the stash of items sent by gerri. i had great fun playing along and love the idea of giving a group of people the same set of items and seeing what comes of it.
