um, 2 more valentines

yep, 2 more!  images from twisted papers on both. the little heart flower bush is on red cardstock covered with a layer of vellum that has flowers imprinted on it.  this one is finished off with a bit of lace, a button and kiss sticker.  the other has a base of cream cardstock, a layer of pinkish paper colored with alcohol inks and is finished off with a k and company border.  i've got more cards to make and then need to get them in the mail!

i wish every one a great week; love to all.

still more valentines...

two more valentines to share.  the moet & chandon label is from an alpha stamps sheet.  the cardstock came from a paper pack called the glitter stack.  the heart and flowers were die cuts from another pack of valentine goodies.  the "see what you have done" valentine is from a twisted papers image.  the background cardstock came from the same glitter stack pack and the image is adhered to another handy die cut from a valentine pack.  i'm not moving quite as quickly as i'd like with getting valentines done but i am certainly having fun with it.
love to all.

more valentine love

here are a couple more valentines for you, just for fun.  both of these feature a central vintage image from twisted papers.  on the "to greet you" valentine, the pinkish layer is from a background page i did with alcohol inks (my new joy!).  it has a rhinestone sticker and and an "i heart you" sticker as well.

the sugar bowl valentine also has some other die cuts from my collection, some stickers and some tiny cupids from a cupid punch.  enjoy!  love to all.

rogue redhead valentine: she reads and muses of love

hooray i finally used one of my new stamps from the rogue redhead designs "relish reading" plate!  these are the wonderful new stamps designed by sharon briss. i'm also pleased because i used a technique i'd been wanting to try.  long ago ali manning did a tutorial on book page backgrounds for gingersnap creations.  i did that technique here, although i skipped the gesso stage.  the underneath cardstock is from the parchment package from paper temptress.  the image is stamped on some pale pink vellum, then cut out and adhered to the book page background which is glued onto the parchment. i used some lace, a heart sticker and another little leaves/floral sticker at the bottom.  i'm kinda happy with it!
more valentines to come.
love to all.

some of last year's valentines

i'm just getting started on making valentine's day cards.  i think i give at least as many valentines as i do christmas and winter holiday cards.  i love the love!  last year i scanned a few of my favorites and i'm sharing them here now ( i wasn't blogging yet this time last year!).  i also looked at these for inspiration for this year!

enjoy; love to all.

time to return a favor

greetings dear ones.  awhile back an old high school friend who i re-discovered on facebook and in art blogs peacock paperie suggested we do an ATC exchange.  i posted her beautiful work here some days ago and have finally completed some goodies for her.

i'm very excited about the butterfly angel ATC because it is my first ever outing with alcohol inks!  i'm so delighted with the effect.  the three colors in use are from the tim holtz nature walk set. this made a  lovely background for the butterfly angel who i then nestled in some flowers.

i know that Megan especially wanted me to stamp something so the second ATC features a fossil stone background from technique junkies.  the blue and green inks i used called out for an undersea theme. the mermaid is from 100 proof press, the sea star is from PSX.  the air bubbles are from G-rated and the rays at the top are just a portion of a sun stamp by judikins.

the third ATC is not going to Megan but i had more of that fossil stone background so i put on some k and company ribbon, a pansy image from twisted papers and some little pearls.  that one will go somewhere too eventually!

i had big crafting hopes for the long (US) holiday weekend but these are my only completed projects.  i made a bunch of backgrounds though, using various techniques.  so when time and energy permit i'll be back at it.

in the spirit of our celebration of Martin Luther King Day here in US i'll leave you with this: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.  Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that"  Martin LutherKing Jr.

wishing you light and love.

snowy seattle night 2011

we had some beautiful snowy goodness last night -- all rained away now.  but a blessed event in my opinion!  my DH and i went out and had some walking around and picture taking fun.  this is a tree outside our house, still has its white Christmas lights on.  oh, and me.
love to all.
