another sport, all about him

in keeping with the "be a sport" challenge over at the cheerful stamp pad i've made another card with a sporty theme in mind.  this time i was able to use a digi from dude time doodles, the sponsor for this challenge.  dude time specializes in masculine images and in their sports section i found this fabulous image entitled "ride like the wind."  my husband wooed me with trips on the Harley so this really struck a chord!  i've never used a digi before so wasn't exactly sure what to do. i printed it and cut around it and layered it with my own stuff.  i did a background with the technique junkies chalk lines technique.  it is a technique that i especially like and here it made sense to me because the lines made me think of the road. i chose chalk colors that were kind of like the dusty sunsets you find on the road as well.  fun memories. the route 66 stamp is from inkadinakado.  anyway i hope you enjoy it and consider joining the "be a sport" challenge.  i'm also pleased to enter this one in the drunken stampers challenge #60: "all about him."  lots of fun to be had in the art blogs once again.
enjoy; love to all.

be a sport!

come join the "be a sport" challenge over at the cheerful stamp pad!  the prize will be a treat from dude time doodles where you can find many fun digistamps.  for my design team creation i used a power weight lifter stamp from graphic rubber stamps.  i know two women who are power lifters and i think they are very cool.  i might like to take this sport up myself some day.  but right now my spare time is reserved for stamping...
this stamp features a guy, slightly more traditional i guess!  the technique is warhol # 1 from technique junkies.  there are 3 different andy warhol-inpired techniques from TJs so you ought to check them out if you have not done so before.  i've got some star stickers since this guy is an award winning sportsperson!  have a great week everyone!
love to all.

happy st patrick's day!

well i almost didn't get anything made for this wonderful holiday i've been so busy.  thank goodness for pacific time because it is still st patrick's day where i am.  if it is over where you are please accept my belated good wishes.  and for those of you in my time zone, there's still time to break out a guinness!  here is my celebratory offering, an ATC which i'm also submitting for the take a word blog challenge "GREEN".

there are two technique junkies techniques here, the plaid technique and that little strip on the left is from a leftover piece of millefiori!  the vintage image is from twisted papers and all the rest consists of papers and flowers from the good old stash.  enjoy!

love to all.

is it spring yet?

well, technically not until march 20 this year but we're channeling spring over at the cheerful stamp pad blog.  our current challenge invites you to share your wishes for spring in a card, tag, or whatever you'd like to make.  as i've been visiting all my favorite blogs i've certainly been seeing a lot of spring themes.  so please join in!  the randomly selected winner will get some goodies from one of my favorite companies, alpha stamps.

this challenge is also my first challenge as a member of the cheerful stamp pad design team.  the card i created for inspiration uses my favorite spring-y technique called millefiori from technique junkies.   i've placed my millefiori background on some designer card stock from basic grey.  the flower is from hero arts and the spiral stamp from connor's collectibles.  the letters "joy" are from pixie press.  oh, and the bunnies came from twisted papers.  irresistible little creatures, eh?

i hope you'll check out the challenge!
love to all.

gothic arch challenge: butterflies

at last!  after wanting to try a challenge over at the gothic arches blog for quite some time i've finally given it a go.  the theme was butterflies and those of you who visit here know that butterflies and dragonflies show up around here a LOT.  so how could i pass this up?  this is sort of a collage-y kind of creation.  the arch itself was done with the "book page background" as taught by ali manning over at gingersnap creations.  the gorgeous butterfly came from a stampington & co. collage sheet.  at the lower right is a bit cut from a floral vintage image by twisted papers.  the rest is flowers, brads and a bit of a diecut border from k & company.  i hope you enjoy.
love to all.
