are you familiar with the numbat? i wasn't until i learned that it is an endangered animal in western australia, thanks to a color for a cause fundraiser. i learned of the fundraiser awhile back from visiting donna mundinger's blog. artist mitzi sato wiuff, owner of aurora wings set up the fundraiser. making a donation means she will send you the exclusive numbat fairy digital image. i was moved to donate and am honored to have received this gorgeous stamp. here is what i made with it.
i printed the digital image on colored designer paper and then colored the image with pencils. i added that to additional designer paper and then added my embellishments. this is the most adorable image and i like how my piece turned out. it is still possible to donate and receive this delightful stamp.
i'm linking up to the aurora wings challenge blog "anything with wings" contest currently running through september. there is also a numbat creation contest page on the aurora wings facebook page which i will enter. finally for the first time i am playing along with "the crazy challenge blog" fairies challenge!
love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

dreaming of spring, part 2 plus blog candy at mea culpa
while it is more than a month away spring holds the hope of sun and flowers and new things ahead. at the cheerful stamp pad we are encouraging you to create with the hope of spring in mind. our challenge sponsor is sweet pea stamps. not only did they generously provide digital images for our DT to use, they will generously provide a prize to the randomly selected winner of this challenge. so play along for a chance at a lovely digital stamp.
this gorgeous digital stamp called "mary's magic" was created by joanne schempp for sweet pea stamps. i colored it with colored pencils, fussy cut it and arrange it on some designer paper and cloth lace. i added a couple stickers as well. this definitely makes me want to make sure the front yard is suitably messy so that fairies can be comfortable hiding there! well, anyway that's my excuse for avoiding yard work!
play along with our challenge for the chance at a "sweet" pea prize.
hey do you like blog candy and digital stamps from aurora wings? check out the blogoversary candy at mea culpa blog. the more comments made on the blog the bigger the prize will get!

things with wings
sweet pea stamps are truly sweet. i haven't participated in one of their blog challenges for awhile but i am this week -- "things with wings." it is hard to find a stamp from sweet pea that doesn't involve wings! i may have gone a bit crazy with the theme for my card though...
this gorgeous sweet pea stamp is by artist teresa sherman and is called "kissing butterflies." i stamped her on pretty paper from the paper temptress and then colored her with pencils. the butterfly border is a stamp from hero arts which i also enhanced with colored pencils. finally the "you are so wonderful" stamp is from leavenworth jackson. the card stock is covered in patterned tissue paper and that's pretty much it. if i were a butterfly fairy this would totally be my look.
i'm also linking up to challenges at aurora wings (butterflies challenge), and "things with wings" at sentimental sundays and artistic inspirations.
love to all.
