in these troubling times i think about people from times past and how they overcame difficulty. while these women below are not my specific ancestors i decided to create with them and in so doing to draw on the strength of women of grace and resilience from days past.
these creations are both "moos," creations that are on a 1.1 by 2.8 inch base. i am linking these to the moo mania and more "anything goes" challenge. the vintage images and backgrounds are by lunagirl, specifically the african american CD. i used a piece of map, some embellishments from tim holtz, paper flowers, washi tape and markers, and such to finish.
enjoy; love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

Love your beautiful creations, and we can indeed be inspired by women who overcame so many difficulties - my great grandparents left the Ukraine to walk to London, their city of dreams, and they did it! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
here from Moo mania. These are such poignant cards. Simply beautiful, and gets the message across.
Just wonderful, how you put so much into this small base!
Just fab - I love your fantastic Moos - your ideas for the little artworks always amaze me.
Thanks for joining Moo Mania & More again!

These are beautiful! We can all draw inspiration and strength from women in the past who endured and survived and carried hope, to pass on down the generations to us...Things can seem ugly and difficult, but I have to keep believing that the long arc of history "bends toward justice"... I'm happy to see you create such lovely little moos with Lunagirl images! ~ Karen
Gorgeous artwork here
Thank you for joining us at MOO MANIA & MORE
I always like to see a "proper" Moo. These are both very stylish and the women look so graceful.
Both of these moos are so very lovely.
The beautiful ladies exude strength and kindness.
The news certainly is troubling and that's putting it mildly.
If only the world could get along like so many of us in the mixed media community.
