peaceful beauty

there are just a couple days left to play along with the gecko galz customer challenge theme of "asian beauty." i'm sharing another ATC today; visit the gecko galz blog today and you'll get a free digital image!

supplies: gecko galz asian words ATC collection; gecko galz beautiful asian ladies collage sheet; gecko galz time flies collage sheet; die cuts; distress ink; "peace" character rubber stamp by poetic prints.

instructions: i covered the ATC base with paper from the asian words collection and distressed the edges. i stamped the peace character on rough paper, tore the edges and glued it to the base. i fussy cut the woman and tore the image at the bottom and added her to the base. i added the swirls and heart last. 

i chose another image with the lotus flower for this piece because i love the meaning and image of the lotus flower. across many cultures it symbolizes spiritual enlightenment and rebirth.  somehow this beautiful flower grows out of muddy water and yet is beautifully clean and pure.  it is quite special.

the continent of asia includes many cultures and i probably inadvertently mixed characters and images from different cultures in this piece.  i did not mean to be disrespectful in doing so.

asian beauty

this month at the gecko galz customer challenge blog the challenge theme is "asian beauty." create on this theme using gecko galz products for the chance to win prizes from the gecko galz store.  i have an ATC to share.

instructions: i covered the ATC base with paper from the asian words collection and distressed the edges.  i added a black scroll border at left.  i fussy cut the woman and tore the image at the bottom and added her to the base.  i glued on the butterfly and leaf last.

i chose an image wiht the lotus flower because i love the meaning and image of the lotus flower. across many cultures it symbolizes spiritual enlightenment and rebirth.  somehow this beautiful flower grows out of muddy water and yet is beautifully clean and pure.  it is quite special.

asian art and ephemera 2

this is week 2 for the asian art and ephemera challenge at lunagirl moonbeams.  link up an asian art themed project for the chance to win shopping credit at the lunagirl store.  my piece this week again features a central image from the lunagirl "geisha 1" collage sheet.

there are three different papers from the "mori girl" paper pack from gecko galz decorating the tag base.  the foreign currency is from the lunagirl collage sheet.  there is a lovely silver dragonfly there too, a brad from eyelet outlet.  you should definitely check out the lunagirl blog for a special opportunity as well...

asian art and ephemera

it is a brand new two week challenge at lunagirl moonbeams -- asian art and ephemera.  for my DT piece i've used a beautiful vintage image from the lunagirl "geisha 1" collage sheet. the coordinating background papers are from the "mori girl" paper pack from gecko galz,

the fan and decorative flower are items from my stash -- conveniently purchased from the daiso japanese dollar store in fact.
